Brief description: Immerse yourself in indigenous culture with a visit to an Embera village. Canoe to a magical waterfall and dive into the river for a refreshing swim while surrounded by dense rainforest. Savor a traditional local lunch and fresh fruit, shop for local handicrafts, and get a tribal temporary tattoo with natural jagua ink.
Full description: We begin by picking you up at your hotel and head to Chagres National Park, located 26 km from Panama City (a 1-hour drive). We’ll head out of the city as we pass through picturesque countryside, stopping to enjoy a refreshing sugarcane juice along the way. Climb aboard a traditional wooden canoe and cruise for about 25 minutes into the heart of the rainforest. Our first stop will be a stunning waterfall where you can take some amazing photos and swim for 20 minutes. Meet the native Embera community and enjoy some traditional music and dance. Hear and learn about their history, culture, education, and challenges before sitting down to an indigenous lunch of fried fish (tilapia) and patacones (fried plantains). Dessert will be a traditional plate of local fruits. Watch a cultural dance performance using traditional musical instruments and enjoy dancing with the Embera people. After this beautiful dance performance, take some time to explore the community. You can purchase handicrafts made by the tribe and have the opportunity to get some jagua ink body painting, which lasts for about 7 days.

What our satisfied customers say about our experiences:
“Our trip was absolutely fantastic. We saw so many beautiful places, swam in a clear water, had personalized meals, had fun on the boat and all that with relaxed schedule that I highly recommend. We were lucky and also got to see a monkey in a natural habitat. I can’t talk about this tour enough; I highly recommend it.”
Katerina Sevilla – USA
“we had a wonderful time with everyone on the UTV tour. The jungle scenery was awesome, the trails challenging, and the entire crew very attentive. Can’t wait to book again with PanamaAllAbout. Stream crossings, hill climbing and beaches are all right there! Diener & Rene…you’re the best.“
William Rupert – United Kingdom
“Diener was an amazing guide to the Embera Village. He was very knowledgeable and fun. We had four people in our group and we each enjoyed the experience immensely. The lunch at the Embera Village was some of the best food we had—fresh fish and fruit after a trip to the waterfall. I highly recommend a tour with Diener.“
Kelly Godbey – USA
“I went on the Embera tour with Dienir and he was absolutely amazing. He is quite knowledgeable of the Panamanian culture and his English was great. He took many pictures for my friends and I and also ensured all of our needs were met. I’d definitely use him again!“
